Looking at Blogger Statistics

If you have not yet had a chance to link Google Analytics to your blog, there is still a way for you to look at and analyze your blog statistics. Blogger offers a statistical report on your blog's pageviews, followers, audience, and traffic sources. Today, we will be going over what information Blogger Stats has to offer versus Google Analytics.

Once you have logged in to your Blogger account, select the "Stats" option from the left-hand side menu. Blogger offers four different categories for which to analyze: Overview, Posts, Traffic Sources, and Audience. Moreover, there are 5 predetermined time-stamps for you to select data: Now, Day, Week, Month, and All Time.

In the example above, we are looking at the overview for today only. The Overview page allows me to see that my blog has had a total of 11 pageviews today and 31 total pageviews since the inception of the blog. Moreover, by clicking over the pageviews chart, we are able to see that there is a total of 8 pageviews currently happening.

The overview page also serves as a sort of "table of contents" where you are able to click on a specific area of the overview report to take into a more in-depth report of either the posts, traffic sources, or audience. Being that this is a fairly new blog, I will skip going into Posts and Traffic Sources, as there is not enough data to generate a meaningful report. Instead, we will jump into the Audience report to look at audience location, browsers used, and operating systems used.

The screenshot above shows us that 63% of views came from the Chrome browser, 27% from Safari, and 9% from CriOS. Moreover, we can also look at operating systems and see that Windows and iPhone have both 36% of our total pageviews, Android has 2%, and Linux has 9%. Lastly, by looking at the left side of the audience stats, we can see that 9 pageviews came from the United States, while there were 2 that came from an unknown region. This might be because of an invalid or unknown IP address.
