Blogging Statistics and Trends

For those of you interested in growing your blog and improving your site content, there is a survey released by Orbit Media Studios that analyzed over 1,000 bloggers and their statistics for the year 2018.

The article is titled "Blogging Statistics and Trends: The 2018 Survey of 1000+ Bloggers" and it is a great resource if you are interested in looking at what gives bloggers greater results. The article is broken down into three sections: (1) length, time and frequency; (2) process and measurement; and (3) content formats, original research and promotion.

The overarching takeaway from this article is that there is a direct correlation with the amount of time taken to research and write a blog post with the perceived notion of the blog having strong results.

More importantly, the percentage of bloggers that have started using analytics has increased since 2014. More and more bloggers have started noticing stronger results by the frequency in which they used analytics on their blogs, with "bloggers who always measure the performance of their content are twice as likely to report 'strong results.'"

I strongly recommend this article (shared with me by my professor) to see what other trends in blogging this 2018 had to offer, as well as the measured and perceived results of such.
