Updating LinkedIn Profile

LinkedIn sources (How Often Should You Update Your LinkedIn Profile) recommend that you should treat your profile like you would your company’s marketing campaign and update it on a frequent basis. Experts suggest you ask yourself the following questions.
- “Is my profile a direct reflection of what I do and who I am?”
- “Does my profile contain a sufficient amount of information and keywords or keyword phrases so other members can easily find me?”
If the answer to either one is "No," then your LinkedIn profile most likely needs to be updated.
Adding New Skills
Throughout this semester, we've focused on social media skills and best-practices for social media marketing. Now, it is time to add those skills to my LinkedIn profile to make sure my profile is representing what I want to do and my qualifications.
To add a skill on your LinkedIn profile, follow the following steps:
1. Add Profile Section
2. Select skills and click on the "+" button to add a new skill.3. Type in the skill you wish to add. I am adding Hootsuite after having completed the Hootsuite Platform Training by Hootsuite Academy. Since you're here, add any other skills missing from your virtual repertoire.
Once you finish adding the new skills you've learned, click "Add" and your profile is ready to go!
You can also add relevant courses you've taken to be showcased in your profile.
