What are Facebook Ads?

There are different types of advertisements Facebook can run for businesses and Pages. According to Facebook for Business, 

"Ads can appear in News Feed on desktop, News Feed on mobile, and in the right column of Facebook on desktop. Ad content is sometimes paired with news about social actions that your friends have taken, like liking a Page."

Facebook Ads can help your business page reach a greater number of viewers, potentially increasing your followers, and ultimately being able to grow your market share.

According to the Week 3 post, there are perceived negatives to Facebook, specifically with the efficiency of running Facebook Ads. To test the effect of running a Facebook Ad, we will be running a real-life ad on my dog's fan page.

How to Run Facebook Ads

There are two ways you can run Facebook Ads. One is from creating posts, often referred to as "boosting posts." The other requires you to create an account through Facebook Business Manager and creating a new advertisement from scratch.
